We often curate playlists on the basis of our mood whether it’s a work, gym or a party Playlist. The same sort of approach can be applied to the same in content writing.
Content is a portal that connect people from different parts of the world. Music is a beautiful way to connect with people. Playlists occupy a unique space in one’s self; they express so much emotion based on their mood and what they need to say. Playlists are created based on our mood, whether it’s energetic and upbeat for an exercise session or mellow and soothing to relax. Not surprisingly, the same thing can be done with writing. By deliberately establishing a mood prior to choosing words and phrases, we can build content that engages and resonates with people. Knowing the Mood-Vibe connection.
Vibe is that critical these days, humans adore being around those who have the same energy and vibe as them, and make them feel good after they’re around.
Similarly, writing can signify so many varying emotions all at once, ranging from happiness, excitement to sorrow or sorrow and every other feeling in between. Writing content on the basis of mood can be a complete spin off in the context of content it reaches the right type of audience. Further, mood is not something that is loud; it can be expressed through a small selection of words, imagery, and tone. Various moods are appropriate for various purposes. A *mellow and calming*mood is ideal for a mindfulness or reflective essay, while an energetic mood is ideal for a motivational piece or a thrilling, adventurous story. Such as, like if you want to write about Mumbai. My jam? “Ok Jaanu.” For real, that song IS Mumbai. It’s got all that crazy, romantic, completely-down-for-anything energy. Consider this: the music video’s all about those wild rain-drenched streets, packed onto local trains, and just hanging out at Marine Drive while the city goes crazy.
When I’m tryna write something that screams Mumbai, I literally just put on “Ok Jaanu” and let that mood flow. It’s not just describing the city; it’s making you feel it. Like you’re right there, falling in love with all its quirks. So, yeah, vibe check your writing with a song, and trust me, it hits different.
So next time you sit down to write, don’t just think what you want to say think how you want it to feel. Set the mood like you’re building the perfect playlist. Need to hype people up? Go full-on banger mode. Wanna get deep and real? Switch to lo-fi and vulnerability.
Because honestly? Good writing doesn’t just inform. It feels.
And if your content’s not matching the mood
it’s basically on shuffle with no skips just like spotify but without the premium☹️.
